An agreement on the implementation of scientific research work between L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and the tour operator Pegas Kazakhstan (Пегас Казахстан) was signed at the Rixos President Astana hotel.
On July 14, an agreement on the implementation of scientific research work between L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and the tour operator Pegas Kazakhstan (Пегас Казахстан) was signed at the Rixos President Astana 5* hotel. The research work, headed by Professor Lyialyia Mutaliyeva, will focus on the topic ‘Research of the Cultural Heritage of Ereymentau (Interdisciplinary Research of Ancient Archaeological Monuments of the Ereymentau Region).
The signatories of the agreement were Mr. Anil Aksema, General Director of Pegas Kazakhstan LLP and Professor Lyialyia Mutaliyeva, Head of the Tourism Department L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The purpose of the agreement is to establish partnership relations between the organizations in the areas of scientific research and educational activities, for the purpose of cooperation in the field of tourism, archeology, and popularization of Turkic history and culture. Based on the agreement, archaeological excavations will be conducted at the burial and memorial monuments in the Ereymentau district. Ongoing work on the comprehensive study, conservation, and reconstruction of these monuments within the natural steppe landscape will enable the use of cultural heritage as an open-air museum, a laboratory for students and specialists, a venue for open lectures, and as attractions for national and international tourism. There is also an opportunity to attract tourists to Buiratau National Park, where the Kumai memorial and burial complex is located. This area is rich in numerous endemic species of flora and fauna, abundant water sources such as springs, the Kumai and Seleta rivers, and Lake Balykty.
The company Pegas Kazakhstan (Пегас Казахстан) will sponsor the project initiated jointly with the Tourism Department of L.N. Gumilyov ENU and the Eurasian Academy of Arts. Previously, Memorandums of Cooperation were signed between ENU and TRT, the Departments of Tourism and Archaeology and Ethnology, as well as between ENU and the Eurasian Academy of Arts.
It should be noted that ENU entered the top 50 best universities in the world according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024 for Hospitality and Leisure Management.
